The Elemental Garden
A celebration of natural materials
In touch with nature
A garden inspired by the elements, wood, stone, metal and water. It celebrates the materials’ raw natural character. The linear design traverses the garden encouraging you to slow down and experience the textures as you pass.
A reclaimed green heart bench forms the focal point to the left full of history and provenance. To the right a boulder sits within a Corten cube of water projecting out to meet the bench. The layers from either side add depth and perspective to this urban garden.

The garden is filled with a wide selection of pollinator-friendly planting to attract a diverse group of bees, butterflies and dragonflies.

Design Detail
Every detail is tailor made – Our client requested a place for a cup of tea when popping out to the garden to water or weed. We specifically designed one edge of the Corten planter to have a wider ledge - The perfect depth for a cuppa.

Planting
An abundance of pollinator-friendly successional planting is layered through the beds – Knautia macedonica, Nepita ‘Walkers Low’ and Verbina bonariensis all buzzing with life.
“Georgia really takes the time to understand you and your wishes. Nothing is imposed, there is no ‘hang on I’m the artist here, I know best’ (although she definitely does!). At the same time, we were constantly, pleasantly surprised by her vision and ability to add subtle touches and detail throughout the project. Any revisions we made, she was incredibly creative and accommodating. It's really lovely working with someone who treats the project with real passion and obvious joy.”
