A Tropical Paradise

Where geometry meets the tropics

A lush family garden with quiet pockets for contemplation

Three separate seating areas are nestled in abundant planting creating privacy and a connection to nature. This is a garden that embraces you on all sides with architectural leaf forms that echo the contemporary bold shapes throughout.

Geometric screens frame the main dining terrace. Inspired by the radiating structures of the surrounding palms, they can be appreciated as much from inside the home as from within the garden itself. A curved limestone block path leads through the garden in two directions - to the lounge at the rear and to the BBQ terrace midway through.

The garden takes on a magical quality at night with layers of subtle lighting to punctuate the planting.

The screens

Five handcrafted panels frame the dining terrace. Made from thermally heated hardwood creating an exceptionally stable decay resistant material. The radiating pattern complements the strong architectural shapes of the tropical planting.

The feature Tree

A beautiful Acer tataricum ‘Ginnala’ sits proudly in front of the garden room, adding shade and a seasonal display turning a vivid orange in the autumn. It creates a natural division between the garden room and the rest of the garden and forms a private nook for the intimate lounge seating.

“Georgia’s real talent lies in her extraordinary ability to listen — not just to the words, but to the meaning behind them. She interprets the approximate language clients use and translates it into something coherent, imaginative, and deeply personal. At the same time, she thinks boldly and creatively, bringing beautiful, tasteful ideas that combine colours, textures, materials, and plants with effortless sophistication. Her knowledge of plants is remarkable, and her perfectionism shows in the way she will go to great lengths to find the perfect plant with the perfect shape.”
